ABOUT THE PROCESS

The Upper Elementary students of the Montessori School of Raleigh spent a week working with Megan Oteri in a photography and prose writing residency. Students participated in a photo hunt and chose from their body of work to write about one or two images. They wrote one thousand words about their photo. Megan teamed with Lynne Hudson to assist students during their technology classes as they explored ways to showcase their photos and writing in a digital art show. They also experienced file sharing, digital file management and talked about the benefits of tagging and organizing their digital files as well as the more creative experience of naming their photographic art pieces.

Students were able to see their final pieces combined in the classroom with printed photographs and stories. In addition their digital quilts are shown on this site. We hope you enjoy their work!
